Which nights do you operate?
- We operate most nights on request provided we have a minimum booking of 6 people
Where
will you pick me up from?
As the traffic is very heavy at this time of night,
we are unable to do some hotel pick ups, so we have
three centrally located pick up points for your convenience.
We can most certainly do hotel drop offs later in the
evening as the traffic will have died down then.
- 6.30pm
Central YHA. Cnr Eddy Ave and Rawson Pl.
- 6.45pm
Holiday Inn Hotel, Victoria St Kings Cross
- 7.00pm
McDonalds, Loftus St, Circular Quay
What time does the tour start and
finish?
- The
first pick up point is at Central YHA at 6.30pm
- We
will finish for a drink at the Opera Bar at Circular
Quay around 8.30 - 9pm.
- People
can either stay on at Circular Quay and make their
own way home, or the bus will do hotel drop offs from
around 9.00 - 9.30pm.
What should I bring?
- A
jacket as it can get cool at night
- A
camera and tripod for those awesome night time shots
- Photo
ID if you look under 30
- Some
cash for the pub
- A
smile and a sense of humour!
What if it rains?
- The
tour will go on. However we may have to eat dinner
inside the coach (very cosy on those cool winter nights!!)
- The
places we go "walkabout" are generally undercover.
- If
you don't wish to venture outside, you are more than
welcome to stay on the coach.
- It
can get cold in the evening by the harbourside so
make sure you bring a jacket.
What does the tasty Aussie meal
entail?
- We
will be stopping at a legendary spot called Harry's
Cafe de Wheels at Woolloomooloo in the eastern suburbs
of Sydney.
- Harry's
has been around since 1945 and services all the Navy
ships when they come into port with his famous "Tiger"
pies (meat pie with mashed potato, mushy peas and
gravy).
- The
meal includes a tiger pie (or equivalent - they also
have hot dogs) and a soft drink.
- There
are vegetarian pies available.
Will it be like a pub-crawl?
- No.
Night Cat Tours is more interested in showing you
where the top 'going out' spots are in Sydney.
- We
can show you where some great watering holes in some
beautiful suburbs are and you can visit them at your
leisure during your stay in Sydney.
- We
will be stopping off at two points during the night
to enjoy a drink but this is not a booze bus!
Is there a dress code?
- For
the actual tour there is no dress code
- If
you would like to carry on after the tour by yourself
at Circular Quay most of the bars and clubs in this
area have a dress code.
- No
singlets, sandals, shorts...the usual club standard.
- They
also have a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
policy (as do all pubs and clubs in New South Wales)
of not allowing intoxicated people to enter so anyone
who has had too many drinks may be refused entry.
Is Kings Cross dangerous?
- Kings
Cross is a red light district and has a certain reputation
about it, like the Reeperbahn in Hamburg, or Soho
in London, but on a much smaller scale.
- Like
any of these areas, passengers need to be aware of
and responsible for their own safety.
- These
days Kings Cross is generally a safe area with numerous
people around at that time of night.
